Political science offers a diverse perspective on the mechanisms and challenges of governance and policy. The field of inquiry spans from analyzing global international relations to studying of individual behaviour, from examining institutions to reflecting on broad philosophical questions.

Students are exposed to a range of insights that draw from methods across the social sciences.

Arts & Science Internship Program (ASIP) students receive extensive professional and skill development training and supports through the ASIP supplementary curriculum.

What Can Our Students Offer?

Political science students learn to think critically, have a strong awareness of current affairs, develop media literacy and are trained to think about challenges of governance and policy through a variety of lenses.

By the End of Second Year:

  • Be introduced to normative and ethical questions concerning the nature of justice, representation, equality and citizenship
  • Develop strong analytical and writing skills to help construct arguments and be taught to compile annotated bibliographies

By the End of Third Year:

  • Develop a stronger familiarity with politics from different regions and countries of the world
  • Be exposed to stronger quantitative and qualitative methods when conducting independent research
