Melanie Woodin, Dean of the Faculty of Arts & Science, and Chris Yip, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering, host U of T alumni and guests in the Bay Area for a mixer and eye-opening discussion about AI-driven materials discovery.

In his talk “The Materials for Tomorrow, Today,” Acceleration Consortium Director Alán Aspuru-Guzik argues that we can increase AI-driven materials discovery by a factor of 100 if we combine machine learning with robotics and quantum chemistry. He’ll discuss the monumental efforts by U of T researchers that could one day lead to faster development of life-saving drugs, stronger building materials, and new tools to manage our climate crisis.

Doors at 6 p.m. Talk at 6:30 p.m. Mixer with refreshments to follow. Guests welcome. Limited capacity. Free.
