The Milestones & Pathways Program facilitates unit-driven programming to support graduate student writing and professional development:
- Milestones activities help students reach key benchmarks in their graduate training, including passing departmental examinations and writing dissertations.
- Pathways activities provide students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in careers within and outside the academy. These events may include alumni networking opportunities and professional development workshops.
A&S provides annual funding to units to support department-led Milestones and Pathways activities, such as:
- On-campus writing groups
- Off-campus writing retreats
- Professional skills workshops
- Career panels
Graduate students can contact their graduate unit to inquire about planned Milestones and Pathways activities in their department. Graduate students are also encouraged to join the A&S Graduate Professional Development and Student Success Quercus site for further support and programming.
