Speakers
Description
The Translational Research Initiative to De-risk NeuroTherapeutics (TRIDENT), funded through a New Frontiers in Research Fund (NFRF) Transformation Grant, brings together a multi-institutional transdisciplinary team of researchers to revolutionize the discovery of treatments for neurodegenerative diseases (e.g., Parkinson’s disease).
As one of the co-investigators on the grant and a member of TRIDENT’s Open Science and Policy Team, Jacqueline's role is to investigate collaborative, open science, and investigative practices surrounding TRIDENT’s combined use of neural organoids, rodent models, and marmoset models of neurodegenerative disease. The aim of this talk will be to describe the goals of TRIDENT, to tease out some aspects of the initiative that may be of particular interest to historians and philosophers of science, and to describe some preliminary findings with respect to what Jacqueline is dubbing “collaborative triangulation” in TRIDENT.
