Mario Badr
Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream, Department of Computer Science
Mario Badr is an Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream, in the Department of Computer Science whose research is focused on computer architecture and performance evaluation.
Badr first joined the University of Toronto as a computer engineering undergraduate in 2005. Since then, he has pursued a professional experience year co-op at Environment Canada, as well as graduate school, completing his PhD in computer architecture in 2019 with Enright Jerger; and a postdoctoral fellowship centred around teaching in the Department of Computer Science.
Badr has six years of experience as a teaching assistant, where he received awards for teaching excellence at the Departmental, Faculty and University levels. Toward the end of his PhD and through his postdoctoral fellowship, Badr gained experience as a course instructor for Microprocessor Systems, Computer Fundamentals, Introduction to Programming and Introduction to Computer Science.
His most recent publication, Mocktails: Capturing the Memory Behaviour of Proprietary Mobile Architectures, can be found in the proceedings of the International Symposium on Computer Architecture, 2020.
