Dean Melanie Woodin welcomes students, faculty and staff to the 2023–24 academic year.
Welcome back, Arts & Science!
September is my favourite time of year. The excitement on campus is energizing.
While we are a large Faculty, I really want to meet each of you this year — whether it’s at an event, strolling across the newly landscaped front campus, or here in the Sid Smith Commons — please don’t hesitate to say ‘Hi!’
Before we know it, sweater weather will be upon us and you’ll be deep in the midst of course work. So, I encourage you to use the start of term to take advantage of the incredible opportunities all around you — make new friends, join a club, tour the amenities across campus, and explore the remarkable city of Toronto.
I’d like to extend a special welcome to all the new students joining our community. I remember all too well how overwhelming the first few days can be, so please don’t hesitate to connect with the many people across the University that are here to support your arrival and your entire University journey.
For now, I wish you all a fabulous start to this school year and I look forward to seeing you on campus very soon!
Best regards,
Dean Woodin
