Shubhangi Saraf

Saraf Shubhangi.Shubhangi Saraf is an associate professor in the Department of Mathematics and the Department of Computer Sciences. She received her bachelor’s degree in mathematics and her PhD in computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Prior to joining U of T, she was a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) and a professor of computer science and mathematics at Rutgers University. She is a recipient of the Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellowship and the NSF CAREER Award.

Saraf’s research interests lie broadly in theoretical computer science with a focus on arithmetic complexity, error-correcting codes and discrete mathematics
