Anna Maria (Ania) Harlick

Ania Harlick.Anna Maria (Ania) Harlick is an assistant professor, teaching stream, in the Department of Physics. After obtaining her PhD from Memorial University in 2010, she worked as a postdoctoral fellow until 2011. She then served as a visiting assistant professor at Memorial University. Prior to her appointment at the University of Toronto, Harlick was an instructor at the University of Calgary, a position she began in 2017. She received the Schulich School of Engineering Teaching Excellence Award in 2021, and the University of Calgary Student Union Teaching Excellence Award in 2020.

Recent publications she has co-authored include: "Impact of the Quick-Response Code Based In-Class Assignments on Students Engagement and Retention" (in Papers on Postsecondary Learning and Teaching) and "There Is No App for That — Adjusting University Education to Engage and Motivate Generation Z" (in New Perspectives in Science Education).
