Prerequisite courses must be reported for admission consideration. You can report courses currently in progress or already completed outside of your regular curriculum for admission consideration. You should be enrolled in required courses at the time of application.

Depending on your applicant type, you may be asked to complete a Self-Reported Grades Form as a mandatory part of your application to U of T. If you are asked to complete a Self-Reported Grades Form on your JOIN U of T applicant portal, ensure that you report courses taken outside your curriculum under “other courses” in the Grade 12/Senior Level section. Courses not reported on your Self-Reported Grades Form will not be reviewed.

If you are not required to complete a Self-Reported Grades Form or your form does not have an “other courses” section available, please contact us at recruit.artsci@utoronto.ca or book a video chat with a member of our team for individual advising.

How do I add a course taken outside of my high school to my Self-Reported Grades Form?

Add courses taken outside of your school/curriculum to the “other courses” section at the end of the form. If you are not required to complete a Self-Reported Grades Form or your form does not include an “other courses” section, please contact us at recruit.artsci@utoronto.ca for individual advising.

Can I complete prerequisite courses in the summer after I am admitted?

No, to be considered for admission, applicants must be enrolled in required courses at the time of application and expect to complete the course(s) by the final transcript submission deadline stated on your JOIN U of T portal.

Do you accept online courses?

Courses taken through an institution approved by the Ontario Ministry of Education (or equivalent) are accepted, including online courses, summer school courses and night school courses.
