General Admission Requirements

  •  If you will be writing your Advanced Level examinations this academic year, you will be considered for a provisional offer of admission based on your A Level result predictions and final GCSE results. 

Applicants must present the complete certificate or diploma with subjects including:

Computer Science English GCSE, Math (GCE: A Level Math, Cambridge Pre-U: Advanced Level Math or Principle Subject)
Humanities English GCSE or GCE
Life Sciences English GCSE, Math (GCE: A Level Math, Cambridge Pre-U: Advanced Level Math or Principle Subject)
Mathematical and Physical Sciences English GCSE, Math (GCE: A Level Math, Cambridge Pre-U: Advanced Level Math or Principle Subject)
Rotman Commerce English GCSE, Math (GCE: A Level Math, Cambridge Pre-U: Advanced Level Math or Principle Subject)
Social Sciences English GCSE

 

  • Some programs may require additional high school subjects as prerequisites for specific courses in first year or for entry into a specific program in second year.  See the individual program pages for high school prerequisites.
  • Applicants to the Rotman Commerce program are required to complete an online supplemental application
  • Applicants to the Computer Science program are required to complete an online supplemental application
  • Students admitted to the Computer Science Admission Category (CMP1) in September 2020 are guaranteed a place in the Computer Science specialist, major or minor program of choice after first-year, provided that conditions of their guarantee have been met. Visit the Department of Computer Science website for more information.

Requirements for Students Completing the GCE

  • At least five different IGCSE/GCSE/Ordinary Level academic subjects and four different Advanced Subsidiary academic subjects OR three different Advanced Level/International Advanced Level academic subjects. Applied Advanced Level subjects are not an ideal preparation for our programs. 
  • General Paper, General Studies, Critical Thinking, Thinking Skills, and Key Skills are not acceptable. 
  • Prerequisites should be presented at Advanced/A2 or Advanced Subsidiary Level. Some programs may consider excellent IGCSE/GCSE/Ordinary Level results for fulfilling a prerequisite. 
  • All examinations must be conducted by an examination authority located in the UK or an equivalent authority elsewhere
  • GCE students may receive transfer credit for some courses - more information will be provided at the time of admission.

Requirements for Students Completing Cambridge Pre-University Program

  • The Cambridge International Pre-U Certificate (3 Principal Subjects) or the full Cambridge International Pre-U diploma including 3 Principal Subjects (or a combination of Advanced Level academic subjects and Principal Subjects), Global Perspectives and Independent Research Report (GPR).
  • Prerequisites should be presented at Advanced Level/A2 or Principal Subjects. Some programs may consider excellent IGCSE/GCSE/Ordinary Level results for fulfilling a prerequisite.
  • If you will be writing your Advanced examinations this academic year, you will be considered for a provisional offer of admission. 

 

English Language Proficiency

  • If your first language is not English, you may need to take an English Language Test and/or be required to present proof of English facility
