The Faculty of Arts & Science is celebrating five incoming undergraduate students named recipients of Schulich Leader Scholarships, Canada’s largest, most prestigious academic awards in STEM.

Aarav Kohli of St. Michael’s College, Chloe Quine of Trinity College, Keerthi Pawar Mamidi of Victoria College, Vincent Qu of New College and Vishwa Dave of University College were selected from a pool of more than 1,400 graduating high school students, with the top 100 receiving the coveted Schulich Leader designation.

Schulich Leaders in U of T’s Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering include William Xu, Hudson Jantzi, Ibrahim Khawar, Jacob Allan and Nolan Cheung.

Schulich Leaders pursuing a science, technology or math degree receive $100,000 and engineering students receive $120,000 to study at one of 20 partner institutions across Canada, including the University of Toronto.

“When these scholars go on to drive prosperity and strengthen our economy, Canada must ensure the right economic conditions exist so they can build their promising futures here,” says Seymour Schulich, the program’s founder — the entrepreneur, philanthropist and companion of the Order of Canada who established the $200+ million scholarship fund in 2012.

“Supporting their entrepreneurial ambition is essential for turning Canadian ingenuity into lasting national success.”

U of T tied for the most Schulich Leader Scholarship recipients among Canadian universities in 2025.
