Join the Faculty of Arts & Science’s Women & Gender Studies Institute and the Department of Sociology for a community roundtable on Anti-Asian Racism and Intersectional Violence on March 26 at 12 – 1:30 pm.
This event has been organized in light of the recent shootings in Atlanta and the rise of anti-Asian racism during COVID. While the presence of anti-Asian sentiments may seem new to some, it’s part of a longer history of oppression that Asian communities continue to experience.
Join this much-needed conversation on how to collectively address and challenge anti-Asian racism and intersectional violence. Taking part in this roundtable are:
- Elene Lam, Butterfly: Asian and Migrant Sex Workers Support Network
- Justin Kong, Chinese Canadian National Council —Toronto Chapter
- Rick Sin, Asian Canadian Labour Alliance — Ontario Chapter
- Moderated by Robert Diaz, Associate Professor, Women & Gender Studies and Hae Yeon Choo, Associate Professor, Sociology
