Dynamic scholars and educators join the A&S community

April 5, 2023 by A&S News

The Faculty of Arts & Science is proud to welcome and introduce our newest faculty members.

This dynamic new cohort of outstanding scholars and educators represents combined excellence across the humanities, sciences and social sciences, and demonstrates the depth and breadth of scholarship within the Faculty.

Every one of these exceptional people brings their own unique skills, experiences and perspectives to Arts & Science. Our students — as well as fellow faculty members and staff — will benefit from their expertise, energy, enthusiasm, and the fascinating range of new perspectives they bring.

They are tackling compelling issues on topics as wide ranging as the composition and evolution of the Universe and how galaxies like the Milky Way form, behave and evolve over time; to how plant species adapt to climate change; the connections between land, race, and belonging; the art and social movements of the 1960s; and biblical texts and their reception throughout history.

This year’s cohort are leaders in a wide range of disciplines, including race and cultural studies, art history, cinema studies, computer science, mathematics and statistical sciences, geography and planning, medieval studies as well as Slavic languages and literatures and Italian studies.

Many of the new faculty members are featured on our website. Read more to learn about each professor’s research, teaching, and interests.
