Daily update for A&S undergraduate students: deadline extension to drop a course

March 31, 2020 by A&S News

Dear Arts & Science undergraduate students,

The countdown continues — it’s hard to believe that April is tomorrow.

I continue to hear from students through various channels. Your feedback and the concerns you’ve raised continue to help us make decisions to support you in finishing the term. On that note, we have made a change to some important deadlines.

The deadline to drop an S or Y course has now been extended for Faculty of Arts & Science courses to May 12. This new deadline is now the same as the deadline for selecting Credit/No Credit (CR/NCR). Please see the Student FAQs for the latest details. And remember, we will keep providing updated information for you there.

In an earlier message from last week, I included a note about how we would be moving forward on the summer term. I promised to keep you updated. Earlier today, a message was sent to all U of T students from Susan McCahan, Vice-Provost, Academic Programs, and Sandy Welsh, Vice-Provost, Students that all U of T courses that start in May (F and Y summer courses) will be delivered remotely. A final determination of the delivery mode for S courses will be made by June 13. They also highlighted the online self-declaration of illness form in ACORN, as well as provided a new Provostial COVID-19 FAQ for students.

As we finish up the term, some of you may be wondering about summer courses and what will be offered. The A&S Summer Timetable is now online, however please note that we may be changing and adding more courses in the coming days. I want to reassure you that we are all working intently right now to develop quality offerings for the summer, and we are putting in place resources for faculty to better support your learning experience.

Until tomorrow,

Dean Woodin
