Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology
Mitchell McIvor is an assistant professor in the Department of Sociology. He completed his bachelor’s degree at the University of Saskatchewan and earned his PhD and master’s degree from the University of Toronto. Prior to joining U of T, he was an assistant professor at the University of West Georgia.
McIvor’s research centres on the sociology of education — specifically, the effects of student debt on new university graduates, the intergenerational effects of residential schools on the Indigenous population in Canada, and the scholarship of teaching and learning.
