A recent alumni event seems to have ‘knocked it out of the park.’

Some 400 alumni from the Faculty of Arts & Science and the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering snapped up tickets to mingle, catch up and watch the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Seattle Mariners recently.

Recent grad Ernie Lee, left, says the event was a great way to hang out, have fun and grab a few hotdogs while enjoying a great game.

The event for 2020 and 2021 alumni sold out in under four hours, making it our most in-demand alumni event to date — and the first fully in-person one since the pandemic began.

“I just wanted to do something with my family, and this came up — it was perfect,” says Lisa Liu, a who earned her honours bachelor of arts in 2021 as a member of St. Michael’s College. “The event was a lovely surprise.”

“It's a great way to unite alumni at a single event to hang out and have fun,” adds Ernie Lee, who earned his bachelor of applied sciences in civil engineering in June 2022.

The event hit a homerun for alumni engagement.

“We are thrilled to see such a great uptake in social alumni engagement activities with these two important classes — the newest members of our alumni family,” says Jennifer Wells, alumni engagement manager with Arts & Science, who organizes a number of events for alumni throughout the year, including the Next Steps Conference for recent grads and the successful Backpack to Briefcase series of mentorship events. “We’re looking forward to future activities with them.”
