The Jackman Humanities Institute invites you to a thrilling lecture on the history of music. This year’s Wiegand Memorial Foundation Lecture, “Music Before Humans”, will be delivered by John Haines, a professor of music history and medieval studies at the University of Toronto.
Haines’ presentation will explore music and its origins by beginning a few centuries ago and working backwards millions of years. By exploring pre-human sound production and reception, we can advance our understanding of music.
