Two faculty members and a doctoral candidate at the University of Toronto have been shortlisted for the 2025 Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Impact Awards.
The annual awards recognize achievements by outstanding scholars and students in research, research training, knowledge mobilization and outreach activities funded by SSHRC. They are considered Canada's highest honours in social sciences and humanities research.
The finalists for the 2025 SSHRC Impact Awards from U of T are:
- Kamari Clarke, professor, Centre for Criminology and Sociolegal Studies, Faculty of Arts & Science and Faculty of Law) — Insight Award
- Dilip Soman, professor, Rotman School of Management — Partnership Award
- Lucas Wilson, post-doctoral fellow, Department of Historical Studies, U of T Mississauga — Talent Award
"The Impact Awards finalists are leaders and innovative thinkers advancing social sciences and humanities research and its mobilization into concrete benefits for Canada," said Ted Hewitt, president of SSHRC, in a press release. "At SSHRC, we always look forward to learning who the jury has selected to be part of this prestigious group of outstanding students and researchers, and this year is no exception."
The winners in each of the award categories will be announced on Nov. 24, 2025.
