To Do While You Wait

Next Steps

You've applied! Now what? Admission to the Faculty of Arts & Science begins in February, but in the meantime, you will receive emails about your application, upcoming events and more. And there is a lot you can do to learn more about life at U of T while you wait.

To do while you wait step 1

Check your Join U of T Portal regularly and submit updated transcripts

We encourage you to check your Join U of T Portal regularly for updates to the status of your application and to submit any updated required documents as early as possible for admission consideration.

To do while you wait step 2

Complete your application by submitting all required documents

You must complete your application by submitting all the required documents listed on your Join U of T portal. We encourage you to complete your application early, as programs are filled on an ongoing basis. The deadline for submitting transcripts, English language test scores (if required) and supplemental applications is February 1.

While we will continue to accept supporting applications documents after February 1, we cannot guarantee that there will be spaces remaining in our programs.

To do while you wait step 3

Indicate your interest in residence

The University is looking toward fall 2021 with optimism, and we are hopeful that public health conditions will allow us to house all eligible first-year students. However, provincial health regulations continue to guide our work and will determine the total number of spaces in residence, as well as our ability to honour the first-year residence guarantee.

Please be assured that we will continue to update students on residence accommodations as information becomes available. For more information, please visit the Vice-Provost, Students website.

To secure the residence guarantee, you must first complete the First Year StarRez application available on your Join U of T portal by March 31.

To do while you wait step 4

Consider applying to a First-Year Foundations Ones Programs

First-Year Foundations Ones Programs offer small class settings for first-year students with an emphasis on community development and experiential learning. The Ones programs are themed-based and offered by all seven colleges and the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy. You can enroll in a Ones program regardless of your college affiliation or admission category. The Ones are a great way to enhance your first-year experience and ease your transition to university life.

Munk One, Trinity One, SMC One, and Vic One require an application. Be sure to check the deadlines on your Join Portal. Innis One, New One, Woodsworth One and UC One do not require an application. Instead, you add them to your timetable during course selection in July.
