Matthew Robbins.

Matthew Robbins is an assistant professor, teaching stream in the Department of Physics. He completed his PhD at the University of Waterloo, where he was also affiliated with the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics. During his PhD, Robbins studied how quantum information techniques could be used to study black holes.

Prior to joining the University of Toronto, Robbins was a sessional lecturer at the University of Waterloo. He taught several courses, including classical mechanics, electromagnetism, waves and optics, thermodynamics, and statistical mechanics. He was also involved in scientific outreach through the Institute for Quantum Computing.

In his classes, Robbins develops a strong rapport with his students and uses many demonstrations and visualizations to help simplify difficult concepts.
