Wenlong Mou.Wenlong Mou is an assistant professor in the Department of Statistical Sciences. He received his PhD from UC Berkeley in 2023 where he had earlier been named a finalist for the Best Student Paper Prize by the Applied Probability society of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS). Prior to that, he received his B.Sc. degrees in computer science and economics, both from Peking University.

Mou’s research interests are broadly in machine learning theory, mathematical statistics, optimization, and applied probability. In particular, he develops optimal statistical methods that enable decision making using machine learning, powered by efficient computational algorithms. His works have been published in many leading journals in the area of statistical machine learning.
