Research Opportunities Programs

Faculty of Arts & Science Funded Opportunities

Research Excursions Program

The Research Excursion Program (REP) gives faculty funding to involve upper-year undergraduate students on a faculty-led research project that takes place off-campus. REPs are supervised onsite by an Arts & Science faculty member.
Deadline for submission: December 16, 2019

COVID-19 Update: On April 1st, the university announced that it is cancelling all future student activities outside of Canada until August 14, 2020. All domestic undergraduate research projects that require field work have also been paused. All REP courses due to take place in the Summer 2020 term have therefore been cancelled. Thank you to all faculty who were intending to offer summer REP courses. All approved REP courses that do not take place in summer 2020 will receive an automatic extension to the end of summer 2021. Please contact Christine Ovcaric at for any concerns or questions.

Research Opportunities Program

The Research Opportunities Program (ROP) gives faculty from across Arts & Science the chance to engage second- and third-year undergraduate students in their research projects. Faculty gain valuable research assistance and students develop research skills while earning course credit.

Deadline for Round 1 submission (Summer 2020): December 16, 2019
Deadline for Round 2 submission (Fall/Winter 2020-21): February 24, 2020
