Not only will WorldPride will be hosted in North America for the first time in its four years, but its human rights conference will take place at the University of Toronto. Presented in part by the Mark S. Bonham Centre for Sexual Diversity Studies, the three-day conference is an exciting gathering of world class activists, writers, students, educators, policymakers and more engaged in LGBTI rights.
From June 25-27, the U of T campus will be busy with presentations from the likes of Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir, Iceland’s first female prime minister and the world’s first openly lesbian head of government to Frank Mugisha, a gay rights activist in Uganda.
Brenda Cossman, the director of the Centre, told U of T Magazine “by far, this is the biggest adventure the Bonham Centre has ever had.”
