April 16, 2019 by Department for the Study of Religion

Senior undergraduate religion major Taylor Irvine has been announced as a 2019 3M National Student Fellow. These awards honour undergraduates “who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in their lives, and at their post-secondary institution”.

Irvine has led multiple cross-cultural initiatives both on and off campus to build a more supported and connected student body and bring students from different cultural backgrounds together. She has created and implemented knowledge translation projects in Kenya through stakeholder engagement with doctors, policy makers, and patient families.

Post-graduation, she plans to develop a career in human rights policy and knowledge translation to support women and marginalized communities and their self- determination. Irvine receives a $5,000 award, will participate in conferences organized by 3M, and take part in a collaborative project related to post-secondary education.
