April 9, 2021
- Department of Philosophy professor Joseph Heath joins an episode of CBC Radio’s Ideas exploring empathy on a global scale.
- A report co-authored by professor Scot Wortley, acting director of the Centre for Criminology & Sociolegal Studies, and University of Toronto Mississauga assistant professor Akwasi Owusu-Bempah about the representation of Black and Indigenous riders among interactions with public transit enforcement officers in Toronto, is cited in the Toronto Star (paywall).

- Department of Sociology professor and chair Scott Schieman contributes to an op-ed first published in The Conversation and reprinted in the National Post exploring the impact of the pandemic on people with anxiety and pre-existing financial concerns.
- Department of Political Science professor Nelson Wiseman speaks in the Toronto Star about the likelihood that the upcoming federal budget will address housing prices in Toronto.
- Department of Economics professor Michael Smart writes a Globe and Mail (paywall) op-ed recommending a temporary reduction of the GST in next week’s federal budget to spur the post-pandemic recovery of the Canadian economy.
