Did you know that in 1969 an art history graduate student mustered the courage to be the first leader of the University of Toronto Homophile Association?
Meet Charles Hill (MA 1969), who went on to become a curator for the National Gallery of Canada and a member of the Order of Canada. He explained that “Prejudice was everywhere. We were an invisible minority and as long as we were invisible, people could create their own theories about us.”
