Dean Melanie Woodin welcomes students, faculty and staff to the 2022–23 academic year.

The 2022–23 academic year announcement can be seen below.

Dear A&S students, faculty, and staff,

We're back! I hope you had a terrific summer and are as excited as I am to start the new school year. The campus is beautiful and full of life these days, and I’m looking forward to meeting you this year, whether strolling across a quad or at a campus event.

I encourage each of you to experience the fullness of university life both inside and outside the classroom — meet new people, join a club and engage in the many activities the University has to offer.

I’d like to personally invite you to an exciting event I’m hosting later this month with world-renowned writer and A&S alum Margaret Atwood in conversation with novelist and English professor Randy Boyagoda. It will be an amazing night as they will be talking about the story of democracy and its importance in building stable and flourishing societies. So, stay tuned for more details!

For now, I wish you a wonderful start to the school year. And I hope to see you around campus soon!

Best regards,

Dean Woodin
