The Milestones & Pathways Program facilitates unit-driven programming to support graduate student writing and professional development:
- Milestones activities help students reach key benchmarks in their graduate training, including passing departmental examinations and writing dissertations.
- Pathways activities provide students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in careers within and outside the academy through alumni networking opportunities, professional development workshops and other initiatives.
Sample Activities
Arts & Science provides annual funding to academic units to support department-led Milestones & Pathways activities, such as:
- On-campus writing groups
- Off-campus writing retreats
- Professional skills workshops
- Career panels and guest speakers from industry
