International Baccalaureate (IB)

General Admission Requirements

  • Prerequisite courses can be presented at either the Standard or Higher Level. Math SL, Math HL or Further Math HL is required for programs with Math prerequisites (Math Studies is not acceptable)
  • A predicted score of 28 or more is required for a provisional offer of admission. More competitive programs require at least 30 and as much as 35 on predicted scores
  • Final IB results must be sent to us electronically by the International Baccalaureate Office

Applicants must complete the IB diploma with subjects including:

Rotman Commerce English HL or SL, Math HL or SL (Math Studies not acceptable)
Social Sciences English HL or S

New IB Mathematics courses with first assessment in May 2021
The following IB Math courses will satisfy the Calculus prerequisite for science and business programs:

  • Mathematics: Applications and Interpretations HL
  • Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches SL
  • Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches HL
  • Some programs may require additional high school subjects as prerequisites for specific courses in first year or for entry into a specific program in second year.  See the individual program pages for high school prerequisites.
  • Applicants to the Rotman Commerce program are required to complete an online supplemental application
  • Applicants to the Computer Science program are required to complete an online supplemental application
  • Admission to Computer Science category does not guarantee admission to the Computer Science Program. Visit the Department of Computer Science for more information.


Transfer Credit

  • If you have taken any IB HL subjects, you may be eligible for transfer credit - more information will be provided at the time of admission. 


English Language Proficiency

  • The Faculty of Arts & Science offers the International Foundation Program, an option for students who wish to attend U of T but whose English skills do not meet the University's entrance requirements

  • Every Faculty of Arts & Science, University of Toronto St. George student is a member of one of seven colleges
