Andrei Swidinsky
Associate Professor, Department of Earth Sciences
Andrei Swidinsky is an associate professor in the Department of Earth Sciences.
He completed his undergraduate education in theoretical physics at the University of Guelph and continued his graduate studies in geophysics at the University of Toronto.
Upon finishing his PhD in 2011, he spent the following two years as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel (Geomar) working on geophysical joint inversion.
From 2013-2021, he was an assistant/associate professor in the Department of Geophysics at the Colorado School of Mines and is now the Teck Chair in Exploration Geophysics at the Department of Earth Sciences.
His research interests revolve around the development of novel electrical and electromagnetic exploration methodology, including its integration with other geophysical tools such as gravity, magnetic, and seismic methods. He teaches a variety of courses on electrical and electromagnetic exploration techniques, ranging from introductory undergraduate classes to those at the advanced graduate level.
