WIT Coordinator, Andrea Williams

Andrea Williams works with units, faculty members, and TAs to integrate writing instruction into disciplinary courses. Andrea did her BA and MA in English at the University of Toronto before earning her PhD in Rhetoric and Composition at the Ohio State University. She was Assistant Professor at the Bissett School of Business at Mount Royal University before returning to U of T.

Andrea teaches a first-year seminar on writing, intellectual property, and digital culture called “Remixes and Mashups: Writing, Authorship, and Ownership in the Digital Age.” She also teaches in the Writing Plus Academic Skills and the U of T Libraries’ “My First Assignment” workshops, as well as the University College Writing Centre.

Her research interests include writing across the undergraduate curriculum where she is involved in a SSHRC funded project writing program evaluation; writing-to-learn; writing and academic integrity; and TA training and development.
