Jessie Lamontagne (2012 - present)

Jessie Lamontagne is a PhD candidate in the economics department. She studies public policies and institutions in developing countries with her thesis focused on crime and inequality in Mexico.

She has spent the last four years teaching students writing in her position as a teaching assistant in writing courses in economics history. Jessie also leads tutorials in introductory economics courses where she enjoys helping students view the world differently through the lens of economic analysis.

In her role as LWTA, she has been involved in assignment design, workshop creation, and has lead training and benchmarking sessions for teaching assistants and course instructors. She has developed a step-by-step guide to completing a writing assignment, a guide on how to avoid accidental plagiarism, and is currently working to establish a writing centre in the economics department.
