Building New Spaces
Promoting a Competitive Edge
U of T is undergoing the largest capital expansion in more than 40 years, and it is dramatically transforming the physical landscape. Stunning new buildings, state-of-the-art research and teaching facilities and “green” spaces stand next to some of the most historically and architecturally significant buildings in Toronto. These places provide a stimulating academic environment for students, faculty and staff — fostering new discoveries, spurring innovation, encouraging networking and making it possible for individuals to achieve their potential.
At the Faculty of Arts and Science — with more than 43 buildings spread across the St. George campus — renovations and expansions of existing facilities are proceeding apace. But we need your help to transform our virtual plans in to bricks-and-mortar. Here are some of our top capital projects.

The Physics Labs now include three new practical rooms that are actually reshaping the way physics is being taught at U of T. Take a virtual tour of the practical rooms with President David Naylor.
