W. Richard Peltier has been awarded the top science and engineering prize in Canada, the Herzberg Gold Medal. The University of Toronto climate scientist will receive $1 million in research funding over five years from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council.
Peltier is recognized for developing influential mathematical models to depict how climate has evolved over the past 750 million years and project how it will be in the future.
