July 13, 2012 — IN THE NEWS: Northrop Frye is "the greatest oracle of our age"

This Saturday will mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Northrop Frye, Canada's most famous literary critic and English professor at Victoria College. 

"Frye looms in Toronto’s history as the greatest oracle of our age," wrote the Toronto Star. "He had an intellectual mission and his theories about literature dominated the academic community all over the world. He also had a huge and revolutionary impact on Canadian society, way beyond the confines of the scholarly community."
