Several Arts & Science disciplines rank in the top 20 worldwide for Social Sciences according to the final installment in a series of 2011 QS World University Rankings.

Of 600 universities around the world, U of T ranked:
    • eighth for Statistics
    • eleventh for Sociology
    • 17th for Accounting and Finance
    • 18th for Economics
    • 19th for Politics and International Studies

Other Arts & Science disciplines to appear in rankings earlier in the series included: Biological Sciences (12th), Chemistry (18th), Computer Science (10th), Earth Sciences (20th), English Language and Literature (7th), Environmental Sciences (20th), Geography (16th), History (11th), Linguistics (11th), Mathematics (16th), Modern Languages (9th), Philosophy (7th), Physics and Astronomy (24th), and Psychology (13th).
