There are only a few places you can study Inuktitut in Canada. Fortunately, the University of Toronto is one of them! - Is Inuktitut spoken all across the arctic?
The language of the Inuit is spoken from Alaska through Canada to Kalaallit Nunaat (Greenland). There are many different dialects and at least three different writing systems for this family of dialects. In the course, we will focus on one dialect and one writing system. - Is studying introductory Inuktitut at university very difficult?
Not if you keep up and don't miss any classes! We meet for three hours a week, with most of the class time oriented around speaking patterns. The tests are based on written, and especially oral production and comprehension.
