International Exchange Programs

Arts and Science students in all departments are encouraged to participate in the international and Canadian exchanges offered through the International Exchange Office. With over 100 universities around the world, students will experience new cultures and languages in an academic setting while earning U of T credits.

Summer Abroad Programs

The Faculty of Arts and Science offers Summer Abroad experiences across the globe, which allow students to complete one full-year course in 4-6 weeks. Location sites include Asia, Europe, Australia and the Americas. For more information please visit the Summer Abroad website.

Other Opportunities

• There may be other possibilities and/or arrangements for studying elsewhere. Check with the department or program you are interested in for advice on different options to investigate.
• The Faculty of Arts and Science provides awards for the Study Elsewhere of Less Commonly Taught Languages for Research Purposes; these are intended to enable graduate students needing, for the purposes of their research, a good working knowledge of a language not regularly taught at the University of Toronto. The next competition for these awards will be held in the Fall of 2009.
• U of T's School of Continuing Studies offers courses in languages and translation.
