During World War II, more than 70,000 Finnish children were evacuated to neutral Sweden to avoid the conflict. The film tackles the painful patch of history in the tale of 9 year old Eero, torn between Finnish and Swedish heritages.

The Year of Languages Film Festival - Speaking Across the Frame: Language and Culture in European Cinema - is an exploration of questions of cross-cultural integration and identity within modern Europe. The constant evolution of language and culture in general, due to the growing globalization of the area, is reflected in these films, which tackle representative countries.
