  • It is awarded to graduate students undertaking research in the area of Hebrew hermeneutics with a focus on Hebrew Poetry and/or Jewish mysticism.

Tarek Heggy Graduate Scholarship in Jewish Muslim Studies

  • Established by Naim S. Mahlab.
  • It is awarded to a graduate student on the basis of academic merit. Preference will be given to students who are studying the history of Jewish/Muslim relations.

Joseph and Gisela Klinghofer Scholarship in Jewish Studies

  • Established by the Estate of Joseph Klinghofer and Gisela Klinghofer.
  • It is awarded to a graduate student in the Centre for Jewish Studies based on academic merit, where financial need will also be considered.

Israel and Golda Koschitzky Fellowship in Jewish Studies

  • Established by Israel Koschitzky Family Foundation.
  • It is awarded to a student enrolled in a program related to Jewish studies.

Earl and Renee Lyons Scholarships in Jewish Studies

  • It is awarded to a graduate student in Jewish Studies.

Naim S. Mahlab Graduate Scholarship in Jewish Canadian History

  • Graduate student(s) studying the history of Jewish settlement in Canada or students studying modern Jewish history in the Americas, Europe and the Middle East, on the basis of academic merit.

  • Established by Naim S. Mahlab.
  • It is awarded to an OGS recipient in Jewish Studies.

Naim S. Mahlab Graduate Scholarships in Jewish Christian Relations and / or Jewish Muslim Relations

  • Established by Naim S. Mahlab and matched by GSEF.
  • It is awarded to a graduate students studying the relationship between church and synagogue through the ages, or students studying Jewish/Christian relations, or studying Jewish/Muslim relations, on the basis of academic merit.

Shier Family Graduate Awards

  • Established by the Faculty of Arts & Science.
  • It is awarded to a graduate students enrolled in the Collaborative PhD program in Jewish Studies. Priority will be given to students studying the history of Judaism (encompassing the ancient, medieval and modern periods), Jewish thought, or languages and literature.

  • It is awarded to a graduate student(s) enrolled in the Jewish Studies collaborative MA or PhD program.

  • It is awarded to graduate students enrolled in the Collaborative Program in Jewish Studies doing research and/or studying in the field of Jewish thought.

Dr. Lieba Wilensky Lesk Graduate Scholarship for Women in Jewish Studies

  • It is awarded to a female graduate student in or affiliated with the Jewish Studies Program on the basis of financial need, where academic merit may also be considered. (OSOTF)

Kornberg-Jezierski Family Memorial Essay Prize in Holocaust Studies (Graduate or Undergraduate)

  • Established by Jacques Kornberg.
  • It is awarded to an outstanding student essay in Holocaust studies written for a U of T course or under a U of T faculty member’s supervision during the current academic year. Undergraduate and graduate students are eligible with preference given to doctoral students. Masters students are eligible if they are continuing their doctoral studies at the University of Toronto. All criteria being equal, prize will be awarded on the basis of financial need.
