Andre Bekerman Memorial Graduate Scholarship

  • Established by the Ontario Public Service Employees’ Union
  • It is awarded to a graduate student pursuing a degree in the field of Archaeology (Department of Anthropology, Department of Art) and any students pursuing studies related to Archaeology. Academic merit and financial need will be considered.

Jeffrey S. Friedland / Ontario Graduate Scholarship in Anthropology (OGS)

  • Established by Patricia and Allan Friedland.
  • It is awarded to an OGS recipient enrolled in the Department of Anthropology.

Joseph W. and Maria C. Shaw Graduate Scholarship in Archaeology

  • Established by the Friends and Family of Professors Joe and Maria Shaw.
  • The scholarship will go to a PhD student in the Faculty of Arts & Science, selected based on academic merit and financial need to support his/her participation in archaeological field work.

Lorna Marshall Doctoral Fellowship in Social and Cultural Anthropology

  • Established by Lorna Marshall (Mrs. Laurence Kennedy) who was awarded a Doctor of Laws, Honoris Causa, by the University of Toronto in 1986.
  • It is awarded to a full-time doctoral student in social/cultural anthropology who has completed Examination II by March 31 in the year of the award. Recipient must be going into the field, or be in the field, in the year of the award. Award is for the purpose of fieldwork.

Vonda McCrae Clarke Memorial / Ontario Graduate Scholarship in the Department of Anthropology (OGS)

  • Established through the Estate of Vonda McCrae Clarke.
  • It is awarded to an OGS recipient enrolled in the Department of Anthropology.

William John Wintemberg Scholarship

  • Established by the Estate of Roma Elizabeth Jane Ower, the daughter of William John Wintemberg.
  • It is awarded to a graduate student in the Department of Anthropology.
