Lots! Your career options include — clinical chemist, environmental health officer, food scientist, fundraiser, hazardous materials manager, laboratory or pharmacy technician, medical librarian, research assistant, teacher or product tester — among many other possibilities.
Or you could — like Hiren Patel and Gaurav Raval — pursue graduate studies after falling in love with research.

When I started my university education I was debating between pharmacy and research. I looked at how pharmacists work and I didn’t like the lifestyle of standing behind the counter and prescribing drugs. I always wanted to create something cool and the Chemistry Specialist Program was a good starting point. After a few chats with the program director, I decided to pursue my dream of becoming a researcher. Today I am pursuing my PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences here at the University of Toronto. ~ Hiren Patel

I selected Pharmaceutical Chemistry as my specialist because it is one of the few programs at the University of Toronto that provides students with both research and work experience at the undergraduate level. Initially, I was very keen on working in the pharmaceutical industry. However after I took the fourth year research project course I got really interested in conducting independent research. In fact, taking that course convinced me to pursue my Master’s degree in department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. ~ Gaurav Raval
