    English Language Proficiency

    • If your first language is not English, you may need to take an English Language Test
      • A senior level English course (equivalent to Ontario ENG4U/EAE4U) is required for admission to all undergraduate programs
      • If you are a student in a Canadian high school and are required to present an acceptable English language test result you are exempted from this English course requirement and may present another appropriate level academic Grade 12 course in place of English
      • It would still be necessary for you to present the total number of credits as required for your province or territory
      • We strongly encourage you to include English in your preparation for university - if you complete Grade 12 English as an extra credit and you are required to present an acceptable English language test result, we would include your English mark in the admission average only if this improves your average
    • The Faculty of Arts & Science offers the International Foundation Program, an option for students who wish to attend U of T but whose English skills do not meet the University's entrance requirements
