Undergraduate Scholarships: Philosophy

PHL ethica Clinical Research Inc. Bioethics Scholarship in Honour of Professor Barry F. Brown III/IV To be awarded, on the basis of academic merit and financial need, to an undergraduate student who has completed his/her second or third year and is enrolled in third or fourth year of the specialist or major programs in bioethics. All criteria being equal, scholarship will be awarded to the bioethics student who has shown interest in research ethics by achievement in the course in that area, or who has demonstrated excellence through essays or seminars.
PHL John F.M. Hunter Memorial Scholarship III/IV Awarded to a Specialist (or joint Specialist) undergraduate student in the Department of Philosophy who has taken a course on Wittgenstein.
PHL George Kennedy Scholarship IV Graduating student whose program in fourth year includes at least three full course equivalents in Philosophy. Students taking more than one full course equivalent in English or History in their final year are not eligible.
PHL John MacDonald Scholarship in Philosophy II Student in second year, with an overall average of grade A, who has taken in that year at least two full course equivalents in Philosophy.
PHL Scotia Capital Markets Bursary in Philosophy Any/Grad Undergraduate student in the Department of Philosophy. OSOTF
PHL Sunflower Scholarship II/III Student who is enrolled in a Major, joint Specialist, or Specialist program in Philosophy. The award will be made on the basis of financial need and academic improvement in philosophy. Apply to the Chair, Department of Philosophy, by April 1.
PHL Thomas A. Goudge Scholarship in Philosophy III Student in the third year of the Specialist program in Philosophy who enrols in the fourth year of the program.
PHL Thomas J. Lang Scholarship in Philosophy III Student who is enrolled in a major, specialist or joint specialist program offered by the Department of Philosophy. OSOTF
