Students who intend to enrol in a French Program, upon arrival at the University of Toronto, should ask for a specific transfer credit. The specific transfer credit will be determined based on the results of the French Placement Test. The test is mandatory for all students who register in a FRE or FSL course for the first time. It can be taken online or in the Multimedia Centre by writing to French.placement@utoronto.ca to make an appointment. The test must be taken before registration in order to ensure enrolment in the appropriate course.

Students who have attained an advanced level of French should also ask for a specific transfer credit since they may be able to obtain a credit for a higher-level course (FSL2 or FSL3).
