Letters of Permission and Transfer Credit: Purpose

For a Letter of Permission Request:

  • the letter relays whether or not you are eligible for transfer credit, the course equivalencies (specific/unspecified) and/or exclusions, and any specific restrictions or conditions that may apply (see section: Criteria for Selecting Courses).
  • Upon the completion of course work on a Letter of Permission, you must arrange with the host university to have an official transcript sent directly to the Transfer Credit Section of the Faculty of Arts and Science. Upon the receipt of the official transcript, the Letter of Permission is re-evaluated and a Transfer Credit Assessment letter will be sent to you outlining what, if any, transfer credit has been granted.

For a Transfer Credit Request:

  • the letter lists what, if any, transfer credit has been granted (specific/unspecified), the course exclusions, and any conditions that may apply.
