Chinese Canadian Association of Biomedical Professionals Scholarship
  • Established by a gift from the Federation of Chinese Canadian Professionals (Ontario) Education Foundation.
  • (For Any Year) - The student who obtains the highest mark in BIO120H.

 

Dorothy Whiting Scholarship in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology
  • Established by a bequest from the Estate of the late Dorothy Whiting.
  • (For Year IV) - An outstanding student in a program offered by the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.

 

Dr. Klaus Rothfels Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology
  • Established by Friends and former students of Dr. Klaus Rothfels.
  • (For Any Year) - Awarded on the basis of academic standing and the need of financial support to an undergraduate student in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.

 

Dr. Paul H. M. Guo Bursary in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology
  • Established by Dr. Paul H. M. Guo and his family.
  • (For Year II/III/IV) - Students in a Specialist or Major Program offered by the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology are eligible, with preference given to students studying Environmental Science or Ecology.  Financial need must be considered, where academic merit will also be considered.

Edmund Murton Walker Scholarship in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology
  • Established through a bequest of the late Edmund M. Walker, Professor Emeritus of Zoology.
  • It is awarded to an outstanding student in a Specialist or Major Program offered by the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, with a preference for a student in a Zoology Specialist or Major Program, selected on the basis of his/her entire university career. Financial need may be considered.

 

Edwin J. Crossman Undergraduate Scholarship in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology
  • Established through the donations of the friends and colleagues of Professor E.J. Crossman, Curator, Royal Ontario Museum and matched by OSOTF and OTSS.
  • (For Year IV) - Awarded to students studying freshwater fishes, freshwater fisheries, and/or ecology.

Hadwen Walker Undergraduate Scholarship in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology
  • Established through donations from the friends of the late Dr. Seymour Hadwen, Director of Research in Parasitology at the Ontario Research Foundation, and the late Professor Edmund M. Walker, Professor Emeritus in Zoology, University of Toronto.
  • (For Year III/IV) - It is awarded to an outstanding student who is entering a third or fourth year in a Specialist or Major Program offered by the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.

 

Irvin S. Naylor Scholarship in Field Biology

  • Established by Irvin S. Naylor
  • The scholarship provides financial aid for undergraduate students in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology participating in field courses. Preference will be given to students who have demonstrated financial need. Academic merit will also be considered.

 

Isabella Moffat Gilchrist Prize
  • Established by the late Archibald Gilchrist, as a memorial to his wife.
  • (For Year II/III/IV) - The student must be enrolled in EEB330H1 and have "the best collection of flowering plants or an outstanding botanical project in connection with this course".

 

 Jacques Berger Bursary in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology

  • Established through the generous donations from the family and friends of Jacques Berger.
  • (For Year III/IV) - Awarded to students in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology who are participating in a field course.

James D. Rising Undergraduate Scholarship in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology

  • Established through the generous donations of the family and friends of James Rising.
  • (For Any Year) - To be awarded to student(s) based on merit and financial need in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology who are participating in a field biology course. Contact the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology for application and deadline information.


J. Bruce Falls Bursary in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology
  • Established by Dr. J. Bruce Falls and Mrs. Ann Falls.
  • (For Year IV) - Awarded to a student in a Specialist or Major program offered by the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.

 

J. R. Dymond Memorial Undergraduate Award in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology
  • Established through gifts of the friends and colleagues of the late J. R. Dymond, O.B.E., M.A., D.Sc., F.R.S.C., Professor Emeritus of Zoology.
  • (For Year II/III) - Awarded to a student in a Specialist or Major program offered by the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology who has completed a basic course in ecology (currently ENV234Y1, EEB319H1, or EEB321H1).

 

Northrop Frye-Biology 120H Summer Research Experience Scholarship
  • Established from the core amount of $6,000 awarded to Biology 150Y upon receipt of the 1999 Northrop Frye Award in recognition of the course’s “distinguished achievement in linking teaching and research”.  With contributions from the Office of the Vice-President and Provost ($12,000); Office of the Dean, Faculty of Arts & Science ($12,000); Department of Botany and Zoology ($3,000 each); and others.
  • (For Any Year) - Awarded to an outstanding student who has successfully completed BIO120H1 (St. George Campus) in the session for which the award is made. The award will fund summer research in the discipline of evolution, ecology, or behaviour.

 

Raymond R. Langford Bursary in Zoology
  • Established by Dr. Robert W. Langford.
  • (For Year IV) - Awarded to a fourth year student either full-time or part-time studying ecology/aquatic ecology on the basis of financial need.  Academic merit may also be considered.
