Undergraduate Scholarships: Actuarial Science

Arthur F. Williams Scholarship in Actuarial Science
  • Established through gifts from the Associates of the University of Toronto Inc., family, friends and former colleagues of A.F. Williams and matched by OSOTF and EAF.
  • (For Year II) - Awarded to a student who has completed ACT240H and 247H combined (or equivalent courses).  Financial need must be considered.  Academic performance will also be considered.

Bryson Scholarship in Actuarial Science 
  • Established through a bequest of the late Florence Maye Bryson in memory of her late husband, Albert E. Bryson.
  • (For Year IV) - An outstanding student who has completed at least five full course equivalents from the Third and Fourth Years of the Specialist Program in Actuarial Science.  At least three full course equivalents must be in Actuarial Science.

 

Hewitt Associates Scholarship in Actuarial Science
  • Established by Hewitt Associates.
  • (Based on performance in Years 2 & 3) - One award for student entering third year of the Specialist program in Actuarial Science and one for student entering fourth year of the Specialist program in Actuarial Science. The recipient of the third year award may receive the award in his/her fourth year providing that he/she continues to demonstrate financial need and maintains an academic standing consistent with his/her performance in third year.

Laurence E. Coward Scholarship in Actuarial Science
  • Established by Mercer (Canada) Limited
  • (For Year III) - Awarded to a third-year student in the Actuarial Science Specialist or major Program in the department of Statistics on basis of academic merit; financial need; campus/ community involvement, preferably in a leadership role. The award will be renewable in their fourth year on the condition the student maintains a 3.25 GPA in his/her third year of study. P.L.J. Ryall Scholarship
  • Established by colleagues and friends of Professor P.L.J. Ryall, a former faculty member in the Department of Statistics at the University of Toronto.
  • (For Year IV) - An outstanding student who has completed the Specialist Program in Actuarial Science with the highest cumulative GPA.
