Dear XXXXXXX,

As the recipient of the XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the tremendous support that you have provided me through this scholarship.

Over the course of my academic and work career, I have had the opportunity to study diseases and treatments, drug reimbursement decisions, and more broadly, the social and economic impact of health care policies. As a second year Masters student at the XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX, I have studied domestic and global patent policies, access to health care, and the fiscal sustainability of Canada’s health care system. This scholarship has allowed me to not only maintain focus on my studies and research, but to also contribute to my community by working with a non-for-profit organization, delivering care to seniors.

I look forward to successfully completing my degree this academic year and continuing my work in health policy. I thank you once again for your generous support in this endeavor.

Sincerely,

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Dear _______________,

I am writing this letter to express my sincerest thanks to you for establishing and funding the ___________Scholarship in ______________. It is my honor to be the recipient of the award this year.

I am a fourth year student in economics and statistics joint specialist program. Receiving this scholarship motivates me to continue to work hard. I will graduate next year, but I plan to pursue a higher degree. I hope to receive a Ph.D. in economics with an interest in macroeconomics and econometrics. My goal is to become a researcher in economics and be able to contribute to this field.

I came from China 3 years ago, and currently live on my own as my parents are in China. During my first year at the University of Toronto, I worked in different jobs in order to support my living and study. This award together with the student loan I obtained allows me to concentrate more on my schoolwork without worrying too much about my financial situation.

Outside school, I work part time at the XXXXX XXX Library, and I also volunteered on two occasions at the XXXXXX College annual book sale, and will volunteer for the book sale again this year. I also like sports and enjoy swimming, playing badminton and table tennis, and I recently learned skating.

Thank you again for establishing this award. I hope that one day I could have a chance to help others, as you have helped me.

Sincerely,

XXXXXX XX
