Instructions for Using ROSI

ROSI (Repository of Student Information) is the University's student information system. There are many self-serve functions on ROSI:

Course Enrolment

    • add, modify or delete a course
  • list courses
    • list your courses (includes approved, interim, refused, and waitlisted courses); you can also drop courses from the list
    • manage waiting lists (including viewing rank on a waiting list)
    • get timetable information for a course
    • check available space
  • view timetable/spaces
    • enter up to three courses and ROSI will show timetable information and space available; if courses are full, you can display lectures with waiting lists; the display includes the number of students already on the waiting list

  • On-line requesting of convocation tickets

Personal Timetable

  • view personal timetable

Subject POSts

  • request, add, change or cancel a subject POSt (note: you cannot use ROSI to request a Type 3 subject POSt—this is done on the Arts & Science web site)

Transcripts, Academic History

View Start Time

  • Once you have logged in, the session will remain active until YOU log out or the system finds it inactive. ROSI allows one minute between asking for information and receiving it. If it is not received, it assumes you wish to terminate the session. If you begin a transaction and hesitate for one minute or more while you are looking up information, you will get a message indicating you have been timed out.

Maintain your PIN

  • change your PIN
  • set up for PIN reactivation

Normal Hours of Operation

  • Monday: 6 a.m. to 11:45 p.m.
  • Tuesday to Thursday: 12:15 a.m. to 11:45 p.m.
  • Friday: 12:15 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Weekends: Saturday 12:00 a.m. through Sunday 11:45 p.m.

Hours may change from time to time for scheduled maintenance or technical reasons. For up-to-date information on ROSI availability, check ROSI's Hours of Operation

First-time Users: Logging In

When you access ROSI for the first time, you must login using your student number and your PIN (Personal Identification Number.) Your initial six-digit PIN is your year, month and day of birth in YYMMDD format (e.g., April 23, 1993 = 930423.) As soon as you have logged in using your birth date PIN, you will be prompted to select a new PIN. You have to select a new PIN only once. If you have questions or problems, you must go in person (with appropriate identification) to your college registrar's office.

Changes Are Immediate

Changes are recorded immediately on the student record system. When you cancel a course your space becomes immediately available for enrolment by other students, or enrolment through the waiting list function.

List Your Courses, Meeting Sections and Status

Always use the “list courses and meeting sections” option after you add or cancel courses or make changes. ROSI will list courses and meeting sections you are enrolled in when using this feature. You are charged fees for all courses in which you are enrolled. Listing your courses verifies that you have made adds and cancellations correctly.

Cancellation of Your Last Course

ROSI will warn you if you are cancelling your last course. If you do not intend to take any other courses in the 2014 summer session, choose the "cancel registration" option. This will ensure that your fees account will be adjusted properly. If you intend to enrol in other courses later in the session, do not cancel your registration. This will allow you to use ROSI later in the summer session to add courses.

Mailing Address and Contact Information

Be sure to keep all your contact information, including your Mailing Address, telephone number and U of T email, current on ROSI at all times. Communications from the University are sent to your Mailing Address or to your U of T email address. The University is not responsible if these communications are not received because of incorrect information on ROSI.
